Terms and Conditions

Last updated: October 5, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Laura Andrea Paz Salas, who runs Mently (Herlev, Sjælland 2730, Denmark). By creating an account or using the Mently app you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.

1. Who can use Mently

You must be at least 18 years old. By creating an account you confirm that you are, and that the information you give us is accurate. One person, one account. Mently is built to support women in STEM: mentee profiles are intended for women, and mentors can be anyone who wants to support them. Anyone aged 18 or over who follows these terms may join.

2. What Mently is

Mently is a platform that helps women in STEM find mentors and mentees. We make introductions and provide messaging. Which profiles appear in a member’s Discover depends on that member’s preferences, so not every member will see every profile. We do not guarantee that you will be matched, that a match will work out, or any career outcome. Mentors are independent members, not our employees or agents, and what they say is their own opinion, not professional, legal or medical advice.

3. Your account

Keep your sign-in details secure and tell us at hello@mently.io if you think someone else has accessed your account. You are responsible for activity under your account. You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile → Account).

4. Community rules

When you use Mently you agree not to:

  • harass, threaten, discriminate against or demean anyone;
  • send sexual, hateful, violent or illegal content;
  • use Mently for dating, to sell products or services, to recruit, or to send spam;
  • pretend to be someone else or misrepresent who you are, including your name, age, photos, job, qualifications or experience. Your profile photo must be a real photo of you;
  • share another person’s private information or messages without their consent;
  • scrape, copy or collect other members’ data, or try to break or bypass the app’s security or limits.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of what you post (profile, photo, messages). You give us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store and show it to other members as needed to run the app. Only post content you have the right to share.

6. Safety, reports and moderation

You can unmatch, block and report any member from within the app. We have zero tolerance for abusive or objectionable content and act on reports promptly. We may remove content, limit features, or suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put others at risk, with or without notice where the situation is serious, including accounts we suspect are fake or misrepresent who they belong to. We do not verify members’ identities or backgrounds beyond what the app shows (such as a LinkedIn-verified name badge) and do not monitor conversations in advance. Use your own judgement when sharing information or meeting anyone, and meet in public or online first.

7. Cost

Mently is free to use at the moment. If we introduce paid features, we will tell you before you are charged for anything.

8. Ending your use

You may stop using Mently and delete your account whenever you like. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or the law. What happens to your data afterwards is described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Availability and changes

We work to keep Mently running but it is provided “as is” and “as available”, and may be interrupted or changed. We may update these terms or the app. We will tell you in the app or by email at least 30 days before material changes take effect; if you do not agree, you can delete your account before then, and continued use after that date means you accept them.

10. Liability

We are not responsible for what members say or do, including in conversations or meetings arranged through Mently. To the extent the law allows, our liability to you is limited to direct losses caused by our negligence, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (for example for intent or gross negligence), or removes mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by Danish law and disputes go to the Danish courts. If you are a consumer in another EU country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws there and may bring a case in the courts of your country.
